Timeline

For a Cr-1 holder, it is the date you activate your visa that is your 'resident since' date.

I'm interested to see what OHIP says about this, I think this is a very interesting topic

My apologies for the delay ... I tried contacting OHIP on my lunch(s) and was on hold for the entire length of my lunch hour!

So, I finally got a hold of them and the official word from OHIP is that you are still entitled to OHIP benefits up to the day that you physically move to the US. It doesn't matter that you are now a permanent resident of the US and have activated an Immigrant Visa as long as you are still living in Canada (Ontario).

A little bit of a contradiction but, this the official word:dance:
