Hello, i have a question. My fiance filed US residency for his dad about 3 yrs ago, thanks God he has his interview before the year ends and my fiance also filed my K1 not long ago, so, i assume i will have my interview around february or march, now i'm wondering if our cases will affect one another since our interviews will happen within a short period of time, or i dont know what other things all this would incur.

Thanks for helping.

Your fiance is not US born, but is a citizen? I think one is nothing related to the other and there won't be any problems, but someone else might have more information on this matter, since I'm not familiar with other K visa procedures.

I think she means that her fiancé is a naturalized citizen and petitioned for his father and he is also petitioning for her as a fiancé ... so was wondering if one petition would effect the other.

I am not very experienced in this area, but I think it would come into play since the U.S. citizen has to file an affadavit for his father (I believe that goes along with the I-130, correct me if i'm wrong).

AB,

It will make a difference to one or the other of you if your husband does not have sufficient financial resources to sponsor 2 immigrants.

yes that's what I meant to say

Does your fiancé have the financial resources to support 1 immigrant father and 1 fiancé adjusting status (after you come) ?

oh, ok, if it all comes down to having enough financial resources, then i guess that makes me feel better :) how much is he supposed to make, though, according to the poverty guidelines? also i'd like to think that at the interview it would be helpful if they find out that i speak 3 languages, have a career and maybe that way i can have good chances of getting a job when i get to the states so that i'm not much of a "burden" to my guy (i'd like to think so lol)

thanks again for helping

Poverty guidelines

I may be mistaken, but I think that at the interview, the only thing the conof checks for is whether your fiance (and co-sponsor, if needed) can support you in the U.S., regardless of what skills you may have and your ability to find a job in the U.S.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.
