Has anyone else had this issue?

NVC approved application & sent notification June 15, posted to London Embassy. London Embassy sent out information letter ONLY, no forms or anything on June 29. No letter received at all.

If I didn't call the Embassy visa line on Thursday July 29, how long or if ever would we have found out?????

Also how much info do I need from that letter & do I need it for the interview??

Very disappointed that we have wasted a whole month in our application because of this

I-751 Application - Nov 26, 2012.
NOA - Nov 27, 2012.
Bio Appointment Dec 31, 2012.

There isn't much to get frustrated about. The London embassy always sends out a letter without the forms. You have to download the forms from the embassy website. You wouldn't have known about the letter if you hadn't called because the embassy had already done their part and tried to contact you. It is your responsibility to follow up on these things. The embassy doesn't care or not if you want a visa, they do their part when the send out the letters. Every single thing stated in the letter can be found here on the VJ website or, even better, on the London embassy website. They have a step-by-step breakdown of what you need to do to apply for the visa.

Really, they have met their responsibility by sending the letter. It's not their fault you didn't receive it. You can't trust the postal system, and so it's best to constantly keep track of where your case is. Otherwise you end up with delays that could have been avoided if you had just been proactive.

Sorry, I can see I assumed you were talking about the London Embassy, but I'm sure the embassy in New Zealand is very similar. Look at their website to see what they provide, as I'm sure it will be very similar to the London embassy.
