opt out conversion of f-2b to f-1

Hi Everyone,

So desperate on this matter.. Need you help! I have an interview schedule this August 24, 2010 for Immigrant Visa F2b but since my petitioner is now a US citizen I need to submit during the interview a written approval from the DHS/USCIS for the OPT -OUT Conversion F2b-F1. I sent my request letter last June 29, 2010 after two weeks without any feedback, I emailed DHS. They said that I have to send my mom's naturalization certificate. I sent it last July 28, 2010, After receiving the document they told me to wait for 60 days to process. I don't have 60 days, August 24 is just 3 weeks away, so I called DHS, They told me that I will have the approval before my interview.Who should I beleive, the email or the person I talked with. How long did anyone get there written "opt-out" approval? Thank you very ,much!

Ive applied for an opt out last year June 17 I think and then I received the approval letter July 30.

hi bro, we have the same problem. I have interview sched. for Sept. 9 and I still haven't got reply from DHS/CIS regarding my opt out. PLease. inform me kung ano mangyari sa yo bro...kindly text me pls at 09159377364. I mailed a letter to DHS/CIS last Aug.2 (snail mail) pero wala pa rin reply up to now. My bro received his reply earlier bec he mailed earlier and it says to submit additional docs like naturalization, etc. I'm afraid I don't have the time bec. sept 9 is fast approaching. tnx
