Yet you haven't made it clear why that's any different than folks who willingly participate in strictly sexual encounters simply for the pleasure of doing so.

Because one person is paying for his own pleasure at the expense of someone else's.

Next you'll tell me that there is no such thing as rape.

Sexual engagement for money and that any woman can be a prostitute. How is that biological?

Women are equipped with vaginas. They all have them. From birth, they've had them.

Men want to rent them sometimes because of their biological need to procreate. Sometimes, women don't want to procreate with a man so he finds a ####### to rent.

You mean you can't compare the women in that situation. If one woman enjoys having sex for free there's no problem, yet for some reason, when a man enjoys having sex - but chooses to pay for it - there is.

Why is that?

I suppose it's because if a man is having sex with a woman with the understanding that it's just for pleasure, it means the feeling is mutual. But with the exchange of money, that to me implies that she doesn't want to be doing it.

If I were a man, I would have to be pretty desperate to "hire" a prostitute. If I wanted sex only, I would aim to find myself a nice little casual girlfriend that wanted the same and didn't need money to do so.

that would be me.

Why do you suppose some folks think it's wrong?

She said she wouldn't pursue more sex from a man who didn't satisfy her. That means she wasn't necessarily in it for mutual gratification.

But what we're seeing from some posters is impossible to separate sex from any other motivation. There has to be more to it! (That's what they're saying, anyway.)

Who's talking about social constructs? I'm talking about sexual engagement, nothing more nothing less.

Bolded how do you draw that conclusion? What that says qutie clearly is that sex can not be one sided if it is to be satisfying - why should a women continue having sex with a man who does not satisfy her? She does not say if he was satisfied by it or not, we can speculate that he was, or that because she wasn't he wasn't, or any number of things, but what we can't conclude is that either or both parties don't care about the gratification of the other. Why would anyone; man or woman continue to have sex if either party finds it unsatisfactory? The only way to find out is to have sex. If one has sex, it doesn't work out - end of story - no one loses out and I am quite sure Amby will have tried hard both to give some and to get some before she called it a day :)

So women have no biological desire to have sex do they? It's all about what men want is it?

Society is inherently patriarchal, on numerous levels. That BTW, is a fact.

This is ideology, not biology. The sex industry is a reflection of that.

I think people have a lot of moral, ethical, and religious reasons why they oppose prostitution. People have different "moral codes" and people also tend to bend things one way or another based on their religious affiliation. Trying to get people to agree about prostitution is like trying to get people to agree on abortion.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

Because one person is paying for his own pleasure at the expense of someone else's.

How is at the expense of someone else's? Typically, it's the woman who sets the fee.

Next you'll tell me that there is no such thing as rape.

Now I see where you're coming from! In your mind, prostitution is like "mini-rape" because the guy is taking advantage of the woman but throws a little money at her to make it OK.

Oh how you misunderstand the biz.

I suppose it's because if a man is having sex with a woman with the understanding that it's just for pleasure, it means the feeling is mutual. But with the exchange of money, that to me implies that she doesn't want to be doing it.

But doesn't it also imply that she's willing to forego her pleasure in exchange for the money?

If I were a man, I would have to be pretty desperate to "hire" a prostitute. If I wanted sex only, I would aim to find myself a nice little casual girlfriend that wanted the same and didn't need money to do so.

It's much cheaper and easier to use prostitutes than casual girlfriends. Otherwise prostitution would be out of business.

Wouldn't that be a whole lot wiser and more satisfying? I mean, surely having sex with someone who wants to have sex with you, who enjoys having sex with you is a bunch better than having sex with a 'rented #######' to use Slim's colourful language. Are you guys simply unable to tell when a woman is sexually aroused?

The assumption is that the fee is adequate compensation. If these women are being psychologically damaged by their experiences - then it's hard to say with certainty that this is the case.

Oh how you misunderstand the biz.

Once again the assumption is that money is an adequate compensation for having sex with someone that they have no connection with and don't find attractive. If you're going through the motions because you find the guy repellent, it's hard to see how a level of rape isn't involved.

Men can achieve sexual satisfaction without basing it on their partner's mutual gratification - that's why you see a lot more men using women prostitutes than women using men prostitutes.

You're still trying to turn this into a relationship process. Why?

So women have no biological desire to have sex do they?

At times they do.

It's all about what men want is it?

Pretty much. Otherwise you'd see just as many male prostitutes as you do female.

Society is inherently patriarchal, on numerous levels. That BTW, is a fact.

What's that have to do with this topic? Are you still feeling sorry for the poor hookers? Mad at the guys who "make them do it?"

This is ideology, not biology. The sex industry is a reflection of that.

The sex industry fulfills a biological desire that's been stiffled by "civilization."

If she's not happy, she should raise her rates or quit doing it.

If she's going through the motions, that's not rape, that's greed - on her part.

I just want to have an orgasm while being pounded. Why is that too much to ask? Geez!

Some guys understand that. Most of us are married to women who are waaaaay out of our league.

Geez, because you are not evolved enough to understand that sex with a willing, sexually aroused partner is a whole bunch more fun than sex with someone who is going through the motions, you accuse me of suggesting casual sex is a 'relationship'? What a bunch of cheap, worthless ####### that is.
