Not the case!

I just mailed off our petition this morning, on the date of Craig and my 6th month anniversary.

You just have to prove having met in person within the past 2 years.

Hi Mike & Jennie. I'm still new here and my responds is out of the question but I want to inform you guys that before applying for a K1 visa there is a requirement of a TWO YEARS relationship. My boyfriend & I is still waiting for our 2nd anniversary and we'll apply for k1 visa asap. Goodluck guys. ; )

Thanks. Goodluck guys...

From where did you obtain this information????

Jen

I got the information here:

http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/fiance.htm , said that "You must also have met with your fiancé(e) in person within the last two years before filing for the fiancé(e) visa"

It's my fault, I misunderstood it. Sorry for that. And thanks for all the correction made. Good day.

With the processing times we are now seeing, do you think there is any possibility for Jennie to get her interview while I am in the Phils between 10/15 - 11/5?

That would be so cool to show up at the interview with her. I don't think there is any better proof than that.

And why are we having to prove this anyway? Who screwed this up for us? Why don't they put the restrictions on the back end instead of the front? I say if you're not serious about your relationship and you decide to divorce or whatever.....then the government can ship you back. You should be penalized when you mess up not when you are trying to be with the one you love and haven't done anything wrong but find the mate of your dreams. SHEESH!!!

Hey Mike,

I know how you feel, I am also waiting for Melinda in the Phil's. Not to take away any hope because it can happen quickly, but because we are waiting for the Manila Embassy, they are very slow in scheduling the interview. Even after they get the petition from NVC, Manila takes between 3-5 months to get your interview and Visa.

I'm praying yours goes fast..

Rob
