Folks I have my case completed since May 11 2010 but we still haven`t got an interview date. I understand the guys at the embassy at Accra- Ghana takes longer than usual but they wouldn`t give you an idea how long it`s gonna take. What I wanted to know is, will it be possible to invite my wife on a tourist visa so she could at least come visit while we wait for this enless interview date?

I doubt they will grant her a B2. I will be shocked if they did. I tried that for my wife and was told bluntly at the embassy that I will have to file for her. Although, at the time she went for the interview I was compiling the necessary forms to file so that while we waited for the approval we could at least spend her vacation time together here. So the chances are very slim. Which category are you applying? Well, I will also say try it as long as it does not affect your current petition.

Well...friend, you've got a long wait to go. Our case was completed in November, 2009...8 months now and still waiting! Do figure this into your plans to avoid disappointment. But no matter how long, it will come to an end, so cheer up! I understand how important it would have been if they could at the least give a time frame so that we could all use as a measuring stick around which we can program out schedules.

I doubt they will grant her a B2. I will be shocked if they did. I tried that for my wife and was told bluntly at the embassy that I will have to file for her.
