Hello everyone!

We were at the NVC stage, we *just* got an approval for an expedite from the Montreal Consulate

But my question is this, does that mean that we just skip over the NVC stage and everything will be processed by Montreal? Or does it mean we will expedite AT the consulate stage and thus, get an interview faster? I've asked an operator at NVC but she didn't seem to know so I thought I'd see if anyone on here does.

Thanks!

While expediting any kind of requests, you never skip any stage! It simply means that your processing will be done faster. Moreover, at the NVC stage, more security/background checks are performed as well!

To sum this all up, your processing will be expedited at both of these stages.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Slider!

Well today, when I called NVC they said our case has been approved for expedite from the Montreal Embassy and when I asked what that meant, the operator said they were turning everything from our case over to Montreal and they (Montreal) were going to be processing it going forward.

But the operator couldn't (or wouldn't) tell me if that meant our interview date would be expedited too?

That's why I'm a bit confused lol

No problem, I completely understand your state of mind and anxiety, as I have gone through MTL as well! Expediting simply means speeding up of the case and usually, both the NVC as well as the U.S. Consulate in question must approve this request.

I think you should be getting your interview fairly soon once MTL receives your case! Also, try calling NVC every week just to stay on top of things!
