Hello,

I am wondering how you check on the status of your file, if you have been assigned a Montreal case number? I was also wondering if anybody has issues receiving mail from Montreal, I sent an email to find out the status of my file (I-130) and received a reply that a package had been sent to me on "March 29th" and I never did receive it, and there seems that there is no way to check where the package was sent.

Are you doing Direct Consular Filing? Or did you go through NVC?

I would suggest that you post your question with a heading specific to "DCF." People (like me) who are going the NVC route won't have the right info. You want to make sure it's the DCF-ers who see your post and respond. The good news is that there are some of those folks around. I know one of them uses the screen name "birdnerd."

Best,

C.

Hi!

I believe that it is considered direct filing; we took it to the US Consulate in Calgary.

No there is no way to find out where the package went. Have you taken any other actions or just waited this long without any news? You need to jump on the ball with these things, if not they may think you abandond the petition.

Email them again with your case number as the subject with urgent. Tell them you never got the package they said they sent and copy the other email into your email as proof you have asked before etc.
