This may be a silly question and it could be that I'm hoping for a miracle, but..

Can my Peruvian wife visit me here in the states with her J1 visa? The visa expires in 2013 and she has used it to enter the US twice. She never overstayed her welcome. We got married in Peru on June 25th 2010 and I am now preparing the documents required with the I130 and awaiting our marriage certificate (She wont have that for another month, at which point she is going to DHL it to me). We know that the CR-1 visa is going to take a solid 9 months or longer and we would very much like for her to be able to visit me for a week or two while we wait for the CR1 to process. Can she visit me using her J1 visa? Or would she have to apply for a tourist visa? Is there another method we've not yet considered?

Any helpful comments, tips, suggestions etc immensely appreciated!
