I was supposed to be on a call but the host is on emergency PTO and won't be back till Monday. The only other project I want to work on this morning is on an app which has a down JVM... so what do I do with myself?

Come up with more acronyms, for a start. Two isn't enough for a Thursday morning.

I just did the most amazing feint on that call -- I was spacing out and looking at Facebook, and I realised someone had asked me what my opinion was on possible topics for discussion on the panel. I had not been paying any attention, so I said, "Well, what Ian said was completely relevant, and I kind of think I also want to hear what the other panellists think would be good topics once we get them signed up. I mean, I'm just staff, right? I think it would be more interesting to hear what he as an asset manager would want to hear panel participants discussing if he were in the audience and not on stage."

Translation: I have no opinion because I have no idea what was just said.

that happens to me a lot. i'm not nearly that smooth though, i'll usually say there's an emergency sev1 that just came in, diverted my attention, could you repeat that?

Oh and eventually the other people on the call will wanna know about the sev1 since it is, after all, a sev1... then I will say hmm the alarm disappeared before the call center could be engaged. Weird. Damn tivoli.

Everyone hates tivoli so it works.

I think I'm hypersensitive to EVERYTHING today. I went to dinner with my friends and I ended up excusing myself and leaving because my friend's wife wouldn't shut up. She has the most annoying voice EVER. She wouldn't let anyone else speak and anytime someone asked him something she'd answer for him by saying something like "oh tell them about that one time" but you could tell he had absolutely NO CLUE what she was talking about. I couldn't do it anymore without flipping out on her. Also, she showed up with a denim Hello Kitty purse. She's like 45. I actually said "####### is that?" she said "oh you like it?" NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! so much for a going away dinner with friends.

I've flipped out on everyone today!
