Holy #######! I think I have a date on Saturday night! I haven't been on one in years. Beyond the obvious (brush teeth, wash and do hair, nice clothes) what else am I supposed to do? #######. And he's smart too, and a published author, and a scientist... le sigh.

Okay menfolk, how should a lady behave on a date?

First.... make sure you DO have a date.

Second..... do not get drunk. (That ties in with MH's vomit advice.)

Third..... let him talk all about himself and fawn over his every word. Oh no wait. Wrong forum. Sorry.

I realize I am not a "menfolk", but I have some experience with this.

I took some guests to Fortnum and Mason for champagne afternoon tea. It was hilariously expensive.

I took my ex to Claridges for the champagne tea for his birthday in 2006. He still talks about it. It was lovely.

Definitely worth it. But only as a special occasion. If she's doing the tourist thing it's a must.
