Derail? No thread, especially not one about nothing in particular, is required to stay 'on track'. The only times VJ moderation shuts threads down for going 'off track' is when the off track movement brings conflict and flame wars with it.

Also, it's really difficult to prove intent in these circumstances. It quickly dissolves into they said/but they said arguments. Also, considering the number of "new" people who have had a pointy stick shaken at them from this turn of events, it's perplexing how we could all be seen to be plotting maliciously in the shadows.

No, UNLESS you guys were purposely trying to derail any thread that the other commies post in. That could be seen as baiting, and a violation of TOS.

But I am with Val & Amby on this, it is an open thread and I enjoy having you guys around.

Usually threads are derailed by people trying to start flame wars and making snarky comments about other posters with that goal in mind.

Merely posting in a thread doesn't do any of that - noone is obliged to respond to every post that they see; but to complain to admin because individuals feel they have some sort of territorial right to thread space is pathetic.

I'm really looking forward to Inception - Christopher Nolan is a great director.

My guilty secret is I can't wait to see The Expendables. It will probably suck, but I am just swooning at the thought of all that testosterone on one screen.

I've also never had risotto. I think I must have had a deprived childhood.

I didn't have it until I was 15 or 16. My mom can't cook and my grandma (amazing cook) always made things her mom made. Risotto wasn't one of them.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

You must go to HEB (the ones with cooking connection) sometime during late afternoon. The regularly hand out samples of risotto with truffle butter.

My new place is going to be beside a Randall's! kicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gif

I am having the worst time trying to get tahini here.

How come? There are tons of middle-eastern restaurants & grocery stores in Houston.

I have to have something within walking distance. That leaves me with an HEB and Belden's. I can't find it in either of them. To be fair, I have never bought tahini, so maybe I am looking for it in the wrong places?

I saw a trailer for that the other day. It actually looks quite good - sort of what the A-Team should have been, instead of that Liam Neeson #######.
