Can I file I-290B and AP concurrently?

My husband was denied at AOS interview because they did not have his medical records. Apparently they were lost after he gave them to the officials at POE last year. So, we are doing a new medical exam, completing an I-693, an I-290B (motion to reopen) and scheduling an Infopass appointment in Atlanta to hand deliver these documents.

Does anyone know if we can file for another AP document while we are waiting to see if they will grant this motion to reopen? Also, does anyone know what kind of time frame we are looking at for the I-485 to get back on track...assuming all goes well with the I-290B?
