Hi,

We have friends - she is a US citizen, he is French and working in the US with a H1B.

They plan to get married next year and would like to know what type of visa he should request.

Is/was anyone in the same situation?

Thank you!

If they are in the US and plan on getting married in the US, they don't need a visa for it.

After marriage he can adjust status if he wants to (assuming they stay in the US).
