Sorry - don't feel like trying to write in spanish at the moment!

Cassandra, you cannot do anything in D.F. Ciudad Juarez is the only consulate that handles K1 visas in Mexico.

The RFEs were due to a huge error made by USCIS in March in regard to the IMBRA law - you can read all about it in the IMBRA forum. The result was that they did not process I-129Fs from March 6 until the end of June until they developed an RFE form to send to every petitioner who filed after March 6. Now they have begun to process again. The good news is for you that you will not be caught in this fiasco.

Be 100% sure that you are using the correct form to file (it includes the questions to comply with the IMBRA law). Follow the guides closely. Once your petition is approved it will go to the National Visa Center and then to Ciudad Juarez - they send out the Fiance Packet and as soon as your fiance has all of the necessary information, he can go to the interview. Check the CDJ website to view the fiance packet. Good luck.

WOW! Thanks for telling me. When we processed the tourist visa in D.F they said we would need to "come back" if we wanted to get married and change status (I guess that's not what they really meant). Even lawyers I talked to failed to mention to me that we'd need to go to ciudad juarez!

I'm using the forms from the USCIS website. Thanks for sharing you experiences with me - you just saved me from a big surprise in the future.

Saludos a todos! :D

You can see my time line for more details. Also, on the left hand side under everyone's ID, you will see what country they are processing from, click on it and from there find the timelines of ppl going through that country.

Feel free to ask me any questions regarding the process. I'll try my best to answer.

Daniel

Thanks My Love! (L)

Hola,

?Piden un "affidavit of support"?

Gracias.
