If with "recently" you mean 2001, then yeah, I guess you are right.

It was quite the entertaining match today. Sorry the goal wasn't given as it should have. Correcting the 1966 mistake ?

No, he said the game was from a world cup qualifying game awhile back.

Haha, I kind of ribbed him a little bit about the losing and he got a little upset with me...told me that under no circumstances can I support Germany or Argentina when they play England

I was in Germany in 2002 during the world cup for about a month and it was fascinating and a ton of fun to see the whole country get all into it. Hilarious even when I was in a shopping store and overhead the speaker we heard, "Ein Tor fuer Deutschland!" I love Germany :luv:

My exchange group went to the Berlin Hard Rock Cafe for to watch the match in the quarter finals between the USA and Germany and afterwards my teacher had remarked that she was relieved that the USA had lost!

Apparently the commentators are all saying that Germany is going to be a rockstar in 2014 because most of their players are pretty young, but very talented. All the best against Argentina!
