How long do it take to get the results to the Sputum Test? I know they said 60 days but has anyone got the results any sooner?

Mostly it will take,yeah 60 days (2 months)that is the culture test..if your fiancee will receive a call from the st.lukes earlier than 2 months,im afraid to say but she might be positive and have to undergo 6 months treatment,well lets just hope she wont.if she has the history or being exposed to someone who has (TB),she might be positive...

Results of sputum test are known within 1-3 days.

The culture test (which is gathered from the sputum) is 8 weeks (according to SLMC).

They will periodically check the culture and if it turns positive they will call immediately so the patient can begin medication.

The medication usually lasts for 6 months. Under many/most circumstances, SLMC will require the patient to come to to hospital every day to receive medication (except weekends & holidays).

The US CDC indicates the culture test procedure must be minumum of 6 weeks and not more than 8 weeks.

We presented this to SLMC (with documentation) but they said...sorry we will not release negative test results early. It will be in 8 weeks.

There are new tests available (recommended by CDC) that can have results within days but they are more expensive so.........
