Wow, I'm not quite sure what to think of that because the pork association are actually being serious. I'd love for that to actually go to trial

Well they are infringing their trademark ("the other white meat") regardless of whether or not their product is real.

Except they were using the term "The New white meat" Either way it appears that its non issue between the two parties.

And its a new promo opportunity for thinkgeek.

My previous post was sarcasm and humor and also a tiny bit serious. I hope Big Pork doesn't come sue me or something. Parody is protected but making profit out of parody isn't. The lawyers can argue that by using the Big Pork slogan, ThinkGeek is driving more traffic to the site, and selling more (of, what I consider, #######.) A judge might rule against ThinkGeek and probably should do exactly that.

Actually, TG did not use the Big Pork slogan. The Big Piggies complained that the TG iteration might cause confusion because of the similarity to the BP slogan. A close reading of TGs clever April Fools AD shows that the canned unicorn meat is an excellent source of "dietary sparkles". It is fair to conclude that the lawyers for the Big Piggies (piglettes of the piggies??) are terrified because their product has no dietary sparkles at all!
