Anyone ever had trouble with the Big brown envelope ?

Hii everyone,

Hope everyone's doing great! I will be POE-ing in about a week and a bit.I will be flying by Jet Airways from Mumbai.I had read a while back on here about this case where the airline staff were insisting on opening the brown envelope themselves before the passenger could board the flight,I think it was Ghana.

Now has anyone ever had a problem in Mumbai,with any airlines?I hope not!

I was thinking I would just keep that envelope inside my carry-on bag and not take it out.But when immigration at Mumbai ask me to fill out the form and see am on a K-1,they will certainly know right that I must be carrying that big huge envelope.So is it okay to let them inspect that,without them raising any untoward situation a la Ghana?

Any suggestions!

I carried the brown envelope in my carry on and the x-ray in my hands (too big). Nobody asked any questions at the NEd Delhi Airport and nobody was interested in the contents of the envelope either. There are quite a few people with those envelopes travelling now that I even had a K3 next to me.. You will be fine. Have a safe journey :thumbs:

Pras (as she told me--I was stateside) took the MBE through at RG (Hyderabad) airport with no issues--the envelope was opened only at DTW.

I carried it inside my laptop bag, in one of the zipped compartments.

Before boarding the flight in New Delhi, they inspected my visa (CR1) and then asked to see my 'visa file' -- I figured he must mean the 'POE envelope' after some initial confusion. I handed it to the official, ready to scream BLOODY MURDER if he showed any urge to open it but he just inspected it, made sure it was sealed and then told me that I was good to go.

Well I shall be all ready to scream bloody murder too if someone dare opens it,or even attempts to.!! I mean business.
