Please, assist me with I-864 Co-Sponsor

Hi,

Could anyone please assist me with I-864 for Co-Sponsor?

Using Form I-864 (The Co-sponsor lives at different address)

Part 1:

1. Checked D (I'm the only joint sponsor - Only one sponsor)

The rest will fill out like the petioner did (except for the income of course )

My co-sponsor filed the income tax return with his wife (jointly). His household size is 4 + my wife = 5. His income last year (2009) was $43,000 by himself (didn't count his wife's income). I believed 125% the poverty for household size of 5 are around $33,000, so his income will be enough to sponsor my wife by himself only.

The main question is: Should I do another I-864A for his wife? Or just do his I-864, but leave the part 6 question 24b blank? Please assist me before I can send the co-sponsor's income to my wife. I don't want to get another blue ..Thanks a lot for assisting me.

if they are married and file jointly then you should include another one for her, this also helps show a joint commitment besides from you and one other person but an entire family is willing to step in and make sure she is provided for. Good luck Jerome

His wife was unemployment last year. On their income tax return, it said "unemployment" for her occupation. I think it will be more complicated if we get her I-864A. You think it's gonna be ok with his I-864 only, Jerome?

I remember, I read some post about this that Jim answered in somebody's thread. He said it's gonna be ok with the co-sponsor's I-864 only if he can make enough to sponsor. Doesn't matter if they filed income tax return jointly. Am I correct, Jim? If i'm not, please correct me...Thanks

You will need to include proof of citizenship for the sponsor as well... others ran into this issue in the past... not sure how to address the wife but I can move the topic to get you better info...

Yup Scott, I will also include his passport's bio graphic page with his I-864 and 3 years of income tax return. (W-2's and 6 months pay stubs from Jan 2010 until June 2010). Thanks Scott.
