Hi All so i am completing the I864 form/ We are using his mom as a co sponsor. I have a questions when completing the form. We are just using the assets of his mom not combining her income to his. Do we still need to complete for I864A?. The forms are a little confusing as we don';t know if we should include her as a houshold member or not as we just using the assets not the income. They both file different income tax returns and have no other dependents or spouses that they claim for.

Every sponsor (petitioner/joint/household member) needs to complete a form.

If she is a relative of the Petitioner and lives with him/her, then she can submit a form I-864A.

If she doesn't live with the Petitioner then she has to file as a joint sponsor with a form I-864.

I don't know if you can skip the income section and only fill out the assets section, though. I think the income/taxes are necessary.
