It is truly sad, when you see a third or fourth generation welfare family: The misguided implementation of welfare policies have indeed created a permanent economic under-class. The most disturbing effect of this is, the expectation that welfare will be a lifetime entitlement. There is a dramatic shift from an expectation that through hard work, it is possible to "get ahead"; to the expectation that welfare is an acceptable lifestyle to "get by". Until this situation is corrected, massive amounts of resources will be wasted on the lazy, at the expense of the truly needy.

Just a couple of minor corrections. The welfare policies are not "misguided" they are doing exactly as planned. This woman and her children were the calculated and DESIRED result.

Democrats wanted to keep slavery. They fought our most costly war to do so. They lost. Democrats tried to keep the blacks under control with laws and social policies designed to keep them down. They fought racial equality with fire hoses, dogs and guns. A Democrat Governor stood down the Federal government on the steps of a State University to keep blacks down. They lost.

They immediately thereafter implementd policies to relocate blacks to ghettos..."we will pay for your housing, right over here" They PAY women to make babies out of wedlock, there is good money in it and that is why this woman does it. More money than she could ever possibly imagine EARNING in a job with her ghetto education, or partial ghetto education. My guess is she never went past age 16 and started making babies. It is, really, the BEST job someone in that situation can get. Add up the food stamps, medicine, housing, cash, utilities, etc. this woman gets. There is NO WAY she could earn that much money to pay for it herself. Not even possible. She is in the BEST job she will ever have and she knows it. If she gets married she loses a lot of her benefits, if she gets a minimum wage job, she loses a lot of her benefits. She isn't THAT stupid.

She accepts it, YOU accept it and the government gets what they want....votes for Obama. when 51% of our population can go to the polls and vote to confiscate what the other 49% make...our democracy is over.

In return the racists that fought to keep slavery, the racists that filibustered civil rights, confiscate YOUR money in order to make the majority of a race dependent on them so they can control where they live. And they do all this in the name of "compassion" Very clever indeed.

The welfare argument is as Red herring as it gets, though very libertarian in nature. Otherwise, why are there negligible such cases in AUS? Where welfare recipients receive probably five times the money, in addition to a $5k baby bonus per child born.

While yes welfare does enable them to fund their stupidity, it is not the root cause. The underlying problem here is cultural in nature, particularly because of a system which states do as you please and screw the consequences.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Oh, I am not quite cynical enough to accept that lock-stock-and-barrel. There was a fair amount of altruism at work when the seeds of the present welfare state were sown in the 1930s. We would not be accurate political observers, if we failed to acknowledge the roll played by bureaucratic inertia in the vast expansion of the welfare state. Add to that the deep desire of Congressmen to be re-elected, and you have most of the answer.

I contend that the "ward politics" that continue to further the welfare state are no different than the Tammany Hall patronage system that flourished in NYC from the 1830s through the early 1900s. The Irish were the 1840s blacks of NYC. The post civil war racial issues certainly focused on observable racial differences; however, the occurrences were just another iteration of the periodical cycles of persecution and subjugation of "classes" based on ethnicity. There can be no argument about the vast expansion of the welfare state post 1960s; but it also can not be ignored that the political practices underlying "ward"style politics predated the 1830s.

The real message here was aptly put forth by Winston Churchill, "Those that fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it." ;)

It is not a red herring and it may be culturally related, true. But using a cultural tendenancy does not make it any less racist or any less an intended system of dependancy. I mean, one has to be pretty stupid and lazy to keep taking saomething that only makes you dependant and destroys your children's future...and is long proven to do so. But, hey...it works better to subjegate a segment of the population than any segregation laws ever did. And they vote for MORE! AND they can call anyone who opposes it..."racist".

Accepting the facts is not cynicism. Denying them is to the benefit of racist politicians who will agree with you 100%

You want to end welfare and help people?

1. FREE education through college level, education is cheaper than welfare and almost no one with a college degree is on welfare.

2. No drivers before age 21 if you do not have a high school diploma or are not enrolled in high school.

3. Better yet, just make it mandatory to graduate high school. If we can mandate age 16 to drop out, we can mandate high school.

4. No welfare unless the recipient is employed, going to school or both. NONE.

5. No payment increases for children born out of wedlock. 70% unwed mother birthrate is the root of most of our social ills. Pay for birth control, not unparented babies.

6. 5 year lifetime limit on welfare benefits. By then they will have a college degree and can get a good job.

It will never happen because welfare is about controlling people, not improving their life. You cannot control an educated person with a good job and/or marketable skills and knowledge. They are NOT good Democrats.

Seriously, does every thread have to go back to the lib-conservative pissing matches?

This woman is crazy, we can all agree, right?

This woman is a cultivar. She may be crazy, she may be stupid, she may be lazy, but she IS cultivated.

Well I think you hit the nail on the head there. Have you seen the movie Idiocracy? The stupid and poor is exactly who is having the majority of the kids and then people are using them to say, well you racists have abandoned them. Yet, not one of them logically asks why so many living in poverty and on food stamps have more than one let alone six kids.

I put this down to culture, attitude and anything-goes freedom. These idiots are not accountable for their actions [decisions]; which means both we and their kids end up paying for their choices, usually by means of welfare and crime.

I have all but compassion for people who fall on hard times but have no patience for someone who simply has kid after kid with various men.

That's the problem, it's not just this woman. Such cases of negligent and utter knuckle-dragging stupidity are not isolated but are becoming the norm.

Any facts to support this or is it all gut?

Why would you even ask that? Considering regardless of the study, you would still play it down and discredit it.
