Hello, I just called the uscis and tried to asked if when is the right time for me to change the address coz we will be moving by June 12 from Texas to Massachusetts and they said 10 days after we move..I'm confuse beco'z some said u can change the address a day b4 moving...my case was transferred to California last Jan 15 and until now still pending..last update form my case was after my biometrics and they transferred to California...do I need to panic for this long waiting? Or I'm still in the timeline

Your question touches upon two perspectives. 1) change of address as a legal requirement by USCIS, and 2) a matter of convenience for you to make sure you continue to receive correspondents from the USCIS.

The answer that you were given (within 10 days of moving) means that you have to report no later than 10 days after moving since you are not yet a legal permanent resident of the US, and the gov't need to be aware of your location at all times. You can submit change of address sooner than that, assuming that doing so does not show you are engaging in any illegal activities.....
