Anybody experiencing negative effect of closure of Bangkok embassy?? Appointments pushed back, denials, etc???????? Wife is due to pick up police cert on the 18th so hoping everything calms down.

Looking at your time line, you are a ways off for the interview. Should be figured out by then. I hope. I feel sorry for the folks that have interviews in the upcoming week, cause I doubt it will happen.

Police report is an issue now. Might not be an issue 2 weeks from now.

Done for 3 years or 10 years. Haven't decided yet.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

The area of the Royal Thai Police Station is not exactly a safe and sane area. Please make sure your fiancee uses some care and tell her to forget going if the situation has escalated.

I was just there for 3 weeks and she went to the police station on May 4th to drop off her paperwork. She took some good pics for me as I did not go with her due to the redshirts. She is going to call Monday to talk to the guy she dealt with and see if she can come or not. It is strange as you can not tell anything is going on in Thailand except it is not busy anywhere. The area where they are barricaded is the only action going on which the police station is right next too so maybe they will end it soon.

Yeah, I'm looking at a July interview we are hoping but getting the police cert and getting to NVC may push us back some. I was just concerned about the canceled appointments now having an adverse effect later down the road.

I'd say push your expectations back a month. Getting the PCC, the medical, or an interview is going to be impossible for a few weeks.

I got an idea. That "How to Ride a Jeepney" thread will do!

Seriously, Hope everyone got out of the way of all the violence over there, and that plans can be rescheduled. The big thing is that everyone is safe.

I'd like to see what happens when the smoke clears and the police clearance office has a line extending 3 blocks from the building..

Best of luck to those caught in that situation. It was relatively uncrowded when we went last October, but if there's a month-

long backlog that will add at least a month to the process and add another month for the medical.

Laugh. I think all the police are wearing red shirts now.

All the staff at the police center were courteous & respectful last October.

With the current political climate, attitudes may very likely change

regarding giving clearance for Thai women seeking to emigrate to farang shores.

The US has a long history supporting the King so no matter what we say about

being neutral/impartial the US will be perceived as being anti-red shirt.

"Hab" T-shirts must command a premium in BKK today (stylish AND red!).
