Hey all - so Montreal received my packet 3 on Monday...understand the next step is to call (in about a week) to see if it's been 'logged in'.

From reading all the posts I understand they won't know my interview date at this point - you get that in packet 4 correct? - so i guess the purpose of me calling to see if it's been logged in is just to confirm that it's moving along...another thing for me to stress out about right?

Having your packet 3 paperwork "logged in" means that you are eligible for an interview date. I wouldn't stress about it. But calling in about 2 weeks is a reasonable thing to do. Much earlier than that and the DOS operator will just tell you that it isn't in their system yet. Once it is logged in, then it is the "wait" for the interview date!

once it's been logged in you are on the wait list for your interview date, and you can call and get this well before you get p4 in the mail.

Oh right, they still have to approve the forms I sent back, then I'm logged, then interview assigned...gotcha...sorry, need to slow down here...think I suffered some serious damage from trying to submit that damn DS 160 form online! :)

Thanks all, B

The term logged in basically signifies that after Montreal receives your P-3, they enter or "log" the information you sent them into their system, which further signifies that you are eligible/in-line for an interview date.

It can take Montreal up to 2-3 weeks to log in your P-3 depending upon how busy they are.

Good luck!
