Ateng, don't get ahead of yourself. The next Philippine presidential election will not happen until 2016.

According to Article VII, Section 4 of the 1987 Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines:

"The President and the Vice-President shall be elected by direct vote of the people for a term of six years which shall begin at noon on the thirtieth day of June next following the day of the election and shall end at noon of the same date, six years thereafter."

I don't get philippine politics, I have asked a lot of filipinos what each person is running for and what they plan to change. I even visit the canidiates websites and this info isnt listed

So is it just a popularity contest? Does not 1 person list what they are going to do, and have that list checked by the people to make sure it happens?

I did not see anyone speak out about the terrible pollution, and garbage in the philippines (should be a priority issue), and smog/pollution clean up or rules

Also I didnt see anything about government given birth control, and education in the schools, they need that badly.

While they are at it, new rules for seperation of church and government/state , and that would clear up most issues. Better infastructre and traffic rules would help

Hi, Mommy Pink!

Look for "Aquino Platform" or "Manny Villar Platform" or "Erap Platform" etc. etc.

Noynoy's platform can be found on his website: http://www.noynoy.ph/v3/platform.php Manny Villar: http://www.eleksyon....llars-platform/

Good post I wish the politicians back there would think this way too. Philippines population is very alarming and really needs an action. One child family policy would be great! :P
