WOW!! Congrats on all the recent Green Card approvals and receipts!

Aaaand now we have an RFE...what the heck?? I'm assuming it's probably the same as that_girl. Sigh. I don't know what it could be for, since they've had it this long. If it's medical, he completed that less than a year ago so it's still valid...also shouldn't they have asked for whatever information it is that they need long ago!? It took 4 months to determine that something was missing? Frustration... :girlwerewolf2xn:

I sent you a PM, but hopefully it's just a "transitional" RFE, and your status will change to "Card Production" like ours did today (with no explanation!) Even still, I won't believe in that GC til I see it with my own eyes! Good luck to you two, and keep us posted.

I sent a letter off to our congressman today hoing that maybe he will be able to get our case moving along. It is 3.5 months now and I still haven't even recieved a letter for my bio appt  I think that it is even more frustrating that my husband (the USC) wouldn't do this for me!!!

Frustrating! I hope that this is the thing that gets the ball rolling, and your issue is resolved soon!

It has been just over 4 months since we filed for my wife's GC and nothing since transfer to CSC. I called the USCIS help line today and after getting the run-around from the Tier 1 agent, I asked to be transferred to Tier 2. At Tier 2 I actually talked to an agent. He could not tell me anything specific about our case since it is at CSC, but he did submit a service request. Hopefully this will jump start our case once again!

Congrats to all May filers who have been approved.

Got the RFE. Started a thread in the main AOS forum...we were right, it's for medical. They are saying they have no record of his overseas medical. Sure glad it took them four months to determine that!

We're scheduling an InfoPass & I'll be on the phone tomorrow with Senators/Congressman's offices.

UGH-how is that possible? That info should at LEAST be at the embassy! And also in your brown envelope you handed in at the airport. What bollocks! This is their f$ckup!I'm so sorry. I hope you can get it sorted...call embassy? Do you have your own copies?

We only have copies of the vaccination worksheet & the I-693 vaccination supplement that we turned in with the AOS packet. Sifa asked for copies of the medical exam when he went to the doctor but they would only give him the vaccination worksheet. I mean...at the end of the day if nothing else can be done we'll be going to get another freaking medical exam. I doubt we can get anything from the Embassy fast enough to satisfy the requirements of the RFE (must be submitted by October 26, and mail from Kenya takes at least a few weeks in the regular post.) I will have Sifa call them and see though.

I'm sooo frustrated though. We were hoping for approval right about now, not dealing with USCIS' mistakes.

The letter does say at the bottom something about every applicant having to have a TB skin test or new blood test, which Sifa did NOT have at his medical - only a chest x-ray, which is what all the Kenya medical exam places do b/c SO MANY people there have positive skin tests. We are more than happy to go get another chest x-ray though. But they said they're missing the whole file! Blaaaargh.

This just highlights the inadequacies of USCIS....my husband never got a TB test, just the chest Xray like yours. TB tests were not available in SL and the doc here in Wisconsin never asked for it. So it probably depends on who is reviewing your case. That is so messed up. Good luck, I KNOW how frustrating this is :(

Honestly we may just go through the medical again just to save the stress of trying to fight USCIS and try to get it in as quickly as possible. We couldn't get an infopass before October 4 which only gives us about 2 weeks to get the information in on time. I talked to a coworker whose husband just did AOS off a work visa based on his marriage to her, and she found a place in Dallas that did the entire medical for $150 which included 2 vaccines. Sifa doesn't need any vaccines, so hopefully that would cut the cost down - although he probably WILL have to have another chest x-ray unless we use the one we have in the closet since they wouldn't take it at POE.
