Cruise vs. Interview

Ok...

So, we're doing Electronic Processing of our CR-1 Visa. My wife is working on the DS-230 and I'm about to send in my Affidavit of Support, all of our fees are paid.

So that should tell you where we are timeline wise.

Here's the issue...

We have a cruise, bought and paid for, from September 25 - September 30, going from New Jersey to Bermuda and back.

1. What are the chances that the interview would fall during those dates? (Was hoping it'd be sooner, but it's seeming less likely).

2. How can we ensure that the interview does NOT fall within those dates, if there is anyway.

1) It is May now, so maybe 6 months after that? It is really hard to say when exactly it will happen. Use the timelines as a guide, they were pretty accurate for us.

2) Montreal won't give you any preference or choices on interview except for extreme cases (my wife was due with our son right before our interview date, and they could care less).

It will take approx 6 months to reschedule an appointment if you miss it.

It's too hard to say - one thing is you aren't gone for too long so it would have to be right at that week so chances are in may not be. I"m waiting on an interview now and our case completed at NVC Apr 23, I'm hoping for June but am thinking July is more likely. MTL seems to be around 2 months or so, in some cases 3 - 4 months. They have scheduled people from early April for June interviews. I've got a flight booked for the last week of June and a few weeks in July but I'm prepared to cancel those plans and or change my tickets to make sure I'm at the interview. The problem is with rescheduling - people have noted 5 or 6 months, as did a poster here.

It's pretty tough to really plan much when we are all in this place of waiting. Once we're done, then on to bigger and better things but until then.

Also I checked your timeline and you are showing paid IV bill May 29th...are you anticipating this or is this done in error? I see the bill came in Apr so it's likely an error. Just wanted to point it out to you for your consideration.

If your case is complete before the 14th of May you might get an interview by the end of July. I'm just going by my timeline. My case was complete within the first two weeks of April (the 9th) and my interview is June 23rd. This is of course just a guestimate. I hope it happens for you.

Also I checked your timeline and you are showing paid IV bill May 29th...are you anticipating this or is this done in error? I see the bill came in Apr so it's likely an error. Just wanted to point it out to you for your consideration.

Oops, yeah, my mistake. I paid that April 29th....fixed now.

Yours and another member's timeline to interview is very encouraging. There are four of us that completed our case in mid and late April and we're really hoping for at most a July interview date. Seeing yours got me all excited !! But it is what it is....

I think it would make sense if you got your interview within the first two weeks of July. Here's hoping eh?
