Need your help yet again

We will be going to Bogota in June for our interview and we would like to know if someone could give us advice on accommodations.

We will be there for on 8 days and and would like to save by renting an apartment as opposed to staying in a hotel.

1) I've been looking at renting an apartment from "Martha" at www.welovebogota.com.. The apartments look nice and seem to be close to the US Embassy and we would like to know if anyone has used them before?

2)I've also looked at www.bogotacolombialodging.com but couldn't find out where the apartments are located. Has anyone used them?

Please share any other recommendations that you have. They will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks yet again.

I have booked with Martha for a week toward the end of May. It is two blocks from the embassy. Communication has been good via phone and email with Martha. Look in the Latin America region and you will see some folks that have stayed there.

Good luck to you, and We Will Leave the Light On.....Motel 6...... jajajaja

We stayed there for 11 days back in 2007 and really liked it. We booked the master bedroom and never had other guests in the apartment, so we had it all to ourselves. It's very nice inside and out and located in a very nice neighborhood, plus it's a 10 minute walk to the embassy. There is also a cafe internet across the street if you need it, and the shopping mall Gran Estación is very close as well.

One thing to keep in mind is that you communicate with Martha at first but then her brother is the one who finalizes the transaction. He will greet you when you arrive and give you two keys, one is for the main entrance and the other one is for your room. He will also bring you fresh towels and sheets if you stay longer than a week. We bought a few groceries when we first arrived and cooked most of our meals there, it was very convenient.

Thanks for your feedback. I've decided to stay there and will be renting the whole apartment. This would have been my second option but I chose welovebogota.com because its within walking distance from the Embassy... http://www.bogotaflat.com/es_apartamentos.html

We are at Martha's place now. It is on the 6th of the complex. Has 24 hour security. Three Bedrooms are nice and two bathrooms. The master has a bath in it, the others bedrooms share a hallway bath. Kitchen is nice and has what you need to cook food and eat some meals there. Internet is great and free and wireless. Some road noise and a few car alarms at night, but I think that is everywhere in Bogota.
