Hey Deb,

What do you mean extortion? Did they make you jump through hoops to get the "discount"?

I was actually considering giving the doc's a call before I leave in the morning to see if there was any sort of "parking" for the medical centre... might do it anyway just to see if they mention Sofitel...

Hey Bex - parking was not an issue. Just have the medical centre stamp your parking ticket and take it to the Concierge desk.

I was referring to the medical itself. I don't know what anyone else experienced but I did an eye exam, he tapped my joints, did a breast exam, weight and height, took down the details of my vaccinations from my yellow book, asked me Q's (at the start) and that was it. Then I went for bloods and X-rays. The medical without the bloods and X-rays is $270 and you can't claim any back. Lotta money for what was actually done. Cost over $800 in total for the offspring and I. He was nice, though. I had Dr Kable.

OUR JOURNEY SO FAR: (dd/mm/yyyy)

Thanks for the details :) Mine is booked with Dr Yates... 11am...

I was looking at my previous medical details from last time... I had 100% uncorrected 20/20 vision back then... now I'm blind as a bat... :(

Ah well, I'm pretty sure my general fitness, health and well being is still enough to pass... shame about having to pay the 11billion $$$ again...

Will report back with my details tomorrow afternoon!

Thank you so much for this thread :) I had my medical with Dr Yates up at Anzac Square at 11am this morning and I printed out your thread and took it with me. The directions to everything were spot on and knowing what to expect was just fantastic. I left the house at 8.30 this morning to catch the train up (from the Gold Coast) to save the parking issue and was back on the Coast at 2pm. Yay another job done!! Thanks again :D

Parking isn't an issue though :P You park at the Sofitel and the Medical Centre gives you a stamp that you take to the concierge for $7 parking... I was there for about 3hrs and it only cost me $7 :P

But I agree - top thread
