Of course it's not mandated. It just makes good business sense. It saves the company money and that's why the services are there. And no, there are no maternity facilities on our campus nor do I expect any popping up as a result of the health care reform legislation. It's one of the silly claims with no root in reality that are being made in regards to the HRC legislation.

Right. I do agree that having a certain amount of medical facilities on hand at a business is sound practice and I know many UK companies have a nurse and a medical facility on site for that very reason. I wasn't aware this was also done in the US. Now I know

Refusing to use the spellchick!

It requires 16,500 armed IRS agents to enforce. This claim put forth by Republican lawmakers is "a fantasy," the group says. Contrary to what Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, has said, armed agents won't enforce the health care mandate because the law "specifically waives any criminal penalties for those who both decline to obtain insurance coverage and refuse to pay the tax enacted to penalize lack of coverage."

I heard it was 16,500 axe and assault-rifle wielding IRS agents. I better get a better source.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
