Hello all -

My hubby went to London to visit family a few weeks ago. He was scheduled to come back Sunday... sigh. Thanks Icelandic volcano.

We're not too worried at the moment. He'll just have to spend hours in customer service waiting hell and try to rebook. But, I'm also thinking about alternatives, because, heck, you never know. And especially since I'm supposed to have a baby soon!

Wondering if anyone here has taken a transatlantic cruise? We'd be looking for a London-Boston route. Anyone have any suggestions on cruiselines they took and liked and were affordable?

Never can be too prepared, I guess!

As far as I know there is only Southampton - New York on Cunard and the April 22nd sailing is now apparently fully booked. Next sailing I think is May.

Maybe be passenger berths of freighters but not sure how you search those out.

What to expect at the POE - WIKI entry

Lansbury - Many thanks. I'll look into Cunard. By the way, is the "OS" on your profile for Oregon State? I'm a native Corvallis-ite... go Beavs!

Go PAC-10 football!

(I have no useful information on cruises to give you - though at this point it might be cheaper for your hubby to take an overnight ferry to Santander or Bilbao and then take a transatlantic flight from Spain).
