It's not about technology though. It's the overall point of what is considered 'news' these days.

I mean, when we care more about what Perez Hilton has to say as a society than what our elected officials are doing, it's pretty damn sad...

I'll agree to that, but that is not what was said in the piece. It was specifically an attack on bloggers and the use of video about jerry jones caught off guard saying something in a bar. Sorry, but that is news. Not all bloggers report actual news, but you also can't make the generalization that they are all useless. This guy just comes off as a curmudgeon.

Spot on there. Entertainers of all sorts have been put on some sort of pedestal here. My guess is that more teenagers know more about the 'girls next door' than who is the speaker of the house.
