For me its lady antebellum "need you now".... anyone else have a song that they listen to everyday?

Lol...That lady antebellium song is catchy too....

Oh and the music video for this song is kind of cool too....

Here are the lyrics to the song, if anyone else is interested in knowing what they are....

(yes. I like looking up lyrics, for the fun of it)

Need You Now Lyrics

Picture perfect memories scattered all around the floor

Reachin for the phone cause I can't fight it anymore

And I wonder if I ever cross your mind

For me it happens all the time

It's a quarter after one, I'm all alone and I need you now

Said I wouldn't call but I lost all control and I need you now

And I don't know how I can do without

I just need you now

Another shot of whiskey can't stop looking at the door

Wishing you'd come sweeping in the way you did before

And I wonder if I ever cross your mind

For me it happens all the time

It's a quarter after one, I'm a little drunk and I need you now

Said I wouldn't call but I lost all control and I need you now

And I don't know how I can do without

I just need you now

Guess I'd rather hurt than feel nothin at all

It's a quarter after one I'm all alone and I need you now

And I said I wouldn't call but I'm a little drunk and I need you now

And I don't know how I can do without

I just need you now

I just need you now

Ooo, baby, I need you now

Ant (lol...though I'm not an antebellium!)

lol!!!!

But a chacun son gout, I suppose, eh?

Seriously, someone posted the song Hey There Delilah by the plain white tees? I'd rather get stabbed in the eardrum than listen to that song. That band should be sent to prison for their crimes against society.

I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas. I listened to this song over and over and over during the last 2 months before my interview. I like listening to songs with energy and that pump me up to get me through rather than listening to slow songs. For some reason the slower songs make me more sad.

My "pump me up" song is Wavin' flag by K'naan...Im not usually one to listen to that sort of music, but for some reason that song gets my feet tapping

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

Hahaha...that was stuck in my head for HOURS last night! No joke.

I also get "Gouge Away" stuck in my head regularly, as well as "Gigantic." I'm not sure if I should have admitted the last one though, given what the lyrics are about...

Waiting in Canada by Jann Arden

all of the empty rooms

all of the silent space

every warm embrace is you

nothing is like it was

there's nobody here but us

i have been filled right up with this

write down the words of sadness

burn them in a cup

write down the things you've wanted

throw them to the wind that's soaring up to heaven

and buy a ticket for a plane and come and see me baby

or drive your car all night by just starlight

to Canada

oh buy a ticket for a plane and come and see me baby

or drive your car all night by just starlight

to Canada

that's where I'll be

I first heard K'naan about 2 years ago when he came out with that song "If Rap Gets Jealous". Great song and not what you'd expect.

I've got an Echo and The Bunnymen song stuck in my head. Yes, of course it's "Lips Like Sugar"

Nope! Although I borrowed Trompe Le Monde the other day from one of my wife's friends, and I didn't like ANY of it... Surfer Rosa is still my fave, and Doolittle has some good stuff too. Not sure if I should check out Bossanova or not...

Trompe le monde is an amazing album - but it grew on me!! Omg I went to sooo many Pixies show and still NEED to hear Alec Eiffel! My least favourite album is Bossanova... but it has it's moments like dig for fire and Velouria.

If I had to rate the albums/EP's from best to worst I'd go:

1. Surfer Rosa

2. Doolittle

3. Trompe le Monde

4. Come on Pilgrim

5. Bossanova

Despite being from Canada and not the UK, Yvonne always thought "Atlantic" by Eddie From Ohio reminded her of us...

Atlantic

from Looking Out the Fishbowl

There's a channel. There's a tunnel

you can sail by train, from the English coast

There's an ocean with no tunnel

you can sail by mail, but go parcel post

(chorus)

There's nothing but the waves, the fish & the kelp

in between her & him

they entertain the thought about meeting halfway

but neither knows how to swim

He has a pump, she has a pail

they'll empty this quarry soon

stand on a rock and see each other wave

and for now that will have to do

till the Atlantic's dry

There's a lighthouse, there's an outhouse

both rely on a torch, just different bulbs

He sends flowers- it takes hours

just to lie on her porch, they're quite different bulbs

Chorus

Bridge the distance, drain the ocean

pave a highway on the sandy floor

part the waters with devotion- it's just a thought

a reunion near Bermuda

they're too tired to hug, they just stand and gleam

dehydrated yet elated

& they suddenly wake, they've both shared a dream

Chorus

till the airfares drop to Greyhound rates

for now that will have to do

till Mother Earth moves and shifts some plates,

for now that will have to do

till the Crown reclaims the United States

for now that will have to do

till Saint Peter opens up Heaven's gates

for now that will have to do

till the Atlantic's dry

Mike writes some of EFO's goofiest songs, but this one's really touching.

As for pump-me-up or get-psyched music, I recently blogged about my favorite get psyched mixes, referencing Barney Stinson's "get psyched mix" from a first-season How I Met Your Mother episode. :D

This one always gets me through the rough times:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrBrH5PZtcc

Silent dance with death.

Everything is lost.

Torn by the arrival of Autumn.

The blink of an eye, you know it's me.

You keep the dagger close at hand.

And you saw nothing.

False love turned to pure hate.

The wind cried a lamentation

before merging with the grey.

Demon of the fall.

Gasping for another breath.

She rose, screaming at closed doors.

Seductive faint mist forging

through the cracks in the wall.

I shant resist.

In tears for all of eternity.

She turned around and faced me for the first time.

Run away, run away.

Just one second, and I was left with nothing.

Her fragrance still pulsating through damp air.

That day came to an end.

And she had lost in me, her CREDENCE.

Mike writes some of EFO's goofiest songs, but this one's really touching.

As a followup, here's one of the goofier ones...

Tommy the Canexican

from Quick

Tommy the Canexican

Vancouver-dwelling Mexican

Staying with his next of kin

and writing those bad checks again

Old Hudson, he protects his men

but makes them scrub those decks again

A mad first mate stands next to him

it's Tommy the Canexican

Traveling round with his moose and donkey

He's part Third World with a twist of honkey

A dashing mix, but don't get him wrong 'cause he's

Tommy the Canexican

He likes hockey and he likes soccer

He thinks real slow, but a really fast talker

Selena's long gone, but Celine needs a stalker

like Tommy the Canexican

Got a brother Jose, another named Darryl

one wears a poncho, the other warm apparel

both sing a Spanish "Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald"

for Tommy the Canexican

One likes Dos Equis, the other likes Molsons

One liked Nader, the other Pat Paulson

Both have a crush on those twins called the Olsons

must be cuz they're Canexican

Tommy the Canexican

Vancouver-dwelling Mexican

Staying with his next of kin

and writing those bad checks again

ferrigno showed his pecs to win

Imagine if he flexed at him

The Yukon becomes Texas when

there's Tommy the Canexican

He eats tacos and he eats bacon

five degrees removed from actor Kevin Bacon

He's got seven sisters but all of them are taken

by Tommy the Canexican

He's got no trouble goin north of the border

but crossin to the South he needs a court order

A foosball table, anybody got a quarter?

ask Tommy the Canexican

Tommy the Canexican

Vancouver-dwelling Mexican

Buys his old dog, Rex, a gin

But a good canine rejects a sin

A fat man goes off dexatrim

and gets a bad complex again

he might squeeze in his Lexus and

there's Tommy the Canexican

He fronts a 5 piece from North of Seattle

stuffed 'em in a van and drove 'em like cattle

outside Toronto, they heard something rattle

so they rented a VW Vanagon

He likes girl drinks with a garnish and umbrella

he'll cut himself off when he turns greenish-yella

he'll pass you the check, what a really swell fella

that Tommy the Canexican

Tommy the Canexican

Vancouver-dwelling Mexican

The Great White North- the next heaven

to Tommy the Canexican

A cute little brown canuk singing sensation

really stands out in the church congregation

confuses the hell out of U.S. Immigration

Just cuz he's Canexican

His family up North have snow that's the truest

his family down South have skies that are bluest

They'd be a lot closer if it t'weren't for the U.S.

Poor Tommy the Canexican

Canada's dollar is droppin real low

but it's still doin better than the old peso

If Menudo ever sang with B.T.O

then Tommy'd be in heaven
