Hi all :)

I'm going to be with my fiancee during her interview, I was wondering how long can I be by her side throughout the entire process? So for instance we get to the embassy and 6:30am and are completely done with the process by 12:30pm. Out of those 6 hours will I get to be by her side 30 mintues until the gates open, 4 hours, 5.5 hours, just looking for a guesstimate. Also any chance I can be in the interview with her if needed by interviewer? Thanks so very much in advance for any help :)

This is such a great forum, found the embassy review section and looks like we'll be able to stay close all day during this intense, stressful process.

Hi G,

you can be with her all the time, but maybe during the interview the CO asks you take sit while talks with her, sometimes doing the interview separately

We can all make a difference. Please recycle

The way the US Embassy in Bogota is designed lets you stay together from the moment you walk in until you're done. It's sort of like a big patio with the CO's booths on one side of the wall and the waiting area right in front of it. The waiting area is covered by a roof, but in all honesty it's just like a big bus station looking patio. You'll see.

As for the interview, the CO will decide who to interview. They usually interview the beneficiary but I've read some posts where they only interviewed the petitioner for some reason. Or you'll both be interviewed, it's really up to the CO.

Be prepared to be there all day. When my wife had her interview she arrived at 6:30am and did not leave till 4:00pm. Both of you will be together during the whole process, but during the interview you may have to sit down while the CO ask question to both of you seprately.
