London UK Packet 3

We have applied for the necessary Police record from the UK, which has a statuatory 40 day time frame to recieve. My question is, do you need to send the record back with Packet 3, to have the interview scheduled, or do you bring the police record with you to the interview? A 40 day wait for the record could mean a considerable delay in getting packet 3 returned.....

I just had a look at some of the guides here on Visa Journey again...

...correct me if I'm wrong...

...so we'd probably have to sign the checklist in Packet 3 that listed the police record, but we dont send it...we bring it to the interview? That would be good news cuz we wouldnt have to wait for the record to come to get the interview date set....

I don't know how it works in the UK, but in Brazil you gather every document listed in Packet 3 and just send back DS2001 and DS230 part I to the consulate. DS2001 is the notice that the documents listed were obtained so the consulate can schedule a date for the interview.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

You can send back your checklist to London even if you don't yet have your police report, however if you got an interview superquick (less than 40 days), you would have to postpone it or go then send in your police report afterwards.

You don't send this with your checklist, take it to the interview with a photocopy.

I got my police report in 39 or maybe 40 days. They take the full amount of allowed time to send it to you.

Good luck.

Has anyone actually had any experience with going to the interview WITHOUT the police record?

We have already filed for it, last week...but since everything has been moving so quickly now, I'm just concerned that there actually could be a possibiliy if we sent back Packet 3 (which we got today) right away, say monday, that the interview could happen before the police record arrived.

What would happen in that situation?
