Hi there!

Quickly question.. My girlfriend is living in Colombia; we talk about getting married and bring her at USA.

What visa could be faster to get?? a K1 fiancée or a K3 citizen's wife???

Also my girlfriend have an one year old baby.. If I get a K1.. could USCIS granted a temporary visa for her baby to?? At least for the famous 90 days???

Thanks you in advance and God blessing everybody!

The choice should be K-1 or CR-1. K-3 doesn't have much to recommend it.

Yes, she can get a visa for her child and her child can also get a green card.

Read all the guides and sort out which is best.

The K-1 is the fastest to get her in the USA. The CR-1 gets her here with a green card and able to work and travel abroad right away, but takes longer. From time of filing the petition until the time she has a green card in her hand is about the same, if YOU don;t delay the K-1 process by delaying filing for the AOS.

Consider that they are the "same" process time but that for part of the wait she gets to wait in the USA with the K-1. If her being able to work, or travel outside the ocuntry right away is a consideration, then go the CR-1 route. If you have no trouble with her not being able to work or travel out of the US for 2-6 months after she arrives, the K-1 is faster. to get her here.

Our "journey" (k-1 plus K-2 for one child) took 10 months and that is fairly fast from filing until they had their green cards in hand. They arrived in the USA 6 months from filing the petition. We did not delay the wedding or filing of AOS and had no RFEs or other problems. In other words, 10 months is about as fast as it goes, it could be longer. We also did a K-2 (child) to follow 10 months after my wife arrived.

CR-1s seem to be taking 10-12 months right now, or at least that is the last I heard. You can check most recent timelines and read the forums to get the latest.
