My wife got a pink slip told to come March 10 to pick up the Visa in Embassy in HCMC. But was told to come back next week on 17 of March. Does anybody had the same experience of be told to come back next week? I wonder why HCMC consulate has to change the appointment. I wonder is some procedural inside the consulate in HCMC. Is it possible for them to give you pink and than give you blue paper instead.

Good Morning. Did you send me PM? I could not access it this morning, maybe it was lost during the site upgrade :(

In response to your question, yes it is possible. However if she went on the 10th to pick up the visa and was told to come back on the 17th, its likely that they just didnt have it ready. If they didnt give her any 221g or request any additional information I would guess that is the case.

In our case, when we returned to pick up the visa we were given a blue (to resubmit fingerprints). Then after doing that, we returned and were given a white (again 221g) and told they would contact us. It was very frustrating but in the end it was nothing we did. I went to the consulate and talked to the staff and they were very polite and accomodating. I found out what had happened and we just ended up being delayed about three weeks.

Really all you can do at this point is return on the 17th and see what is happening. Hopefully they have it ready this time and everything will be fine. If not, let us know what is happening and we will do our best to advise based on our experiences.

Moved to Vietnam regional Forum...

Asian... This has happened a few times recently... in the cases that were noted here its a week delay.... another reason to not buy flights until the visa is in hand... I hope they have it ready for you tonight!

Yep, we're still waiting. Visa pick up was supposed to be 03-12. They said to come back 03-22.

 My wife got the visa after she submit the pink paper on March 17. I leaving to Vietnam on April 1 and fly back to USA I am bring back my wife. I already arrange to sit by my wife on the plane all the way back to USA. I can't hardly wait. All the waiting and missing each other everyday and the countless tears finally we can be together forever. It a great feeling and after this experience it just my marriage stronger. Good luck to everybody and it worth the wait for someone special.
