Is form I-693 is very important for Adjustment of Status?

Hi vjers,

I have a friend, they just sent there AOS package yesterday to Chicago, she did not include on the package the I-693 form, what she have is the DS3025 vaccination record at st.luke and vaccine record she get at HEalth department in Texas. Is it possible to get an RFE? or it will be ok? they did not go to civil surgeon.

Generally, all applicants filing for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident must submit Form I-693 completed by a designated civil surgeon. Form I-693 is used to report results of a medical examination to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The examination is required to establish that an applicant is not inadmissible to the United States on public health grounds.

As sjr09 said, yes the I-693 (filled by a civil surgeon) is important, it is part of the requirements of AOS.

Your friend is likely to get RFE'd for this regardless, HOWEVER there are applicants in the past who were deemed to not need any further immunizations on the DS3025 who sailed through the AOS without an RFE.

Had a friend who submitted her AOS application without going to a CS. Later in her interview she was asked to submit the said requirement before her GC will be issued.
