Traveling abroad while removing conditions

My husband will be applying for his removal of conditions this summer, but has a business trip in the fall that will require him to go out of the country. Is he allowed to travel out of the country while the removal of conditions is pending and he has an expired greencard? I heard about this passport stamp but I also heard it was hard to get. We are in Oregon and I am not even sure where we would be able to get that.

Thank you!

It is possible, yes - when you guys file to remove conditions, the first NOA you get will have language that extends the PR/Green Card status for 1 year - this would be something you would want to hang on to and if traveling, take with you.

The 'extension letter/notice,' expired PR/Green Card and passport should be sufficient.

Your husband will get an extension letter, NOA which he can use as a supporting document to enter back into the US. If he likes to get his passport stamped, then you need to schedule an infopass appointment and go get it, and it is not hard to get. If he is traveling less than 6 months, then he should not worry and there are no concerns... the only concern will be is if he is out of the country when called for biometrics or something else.... that's all.

Good luck!
