Hallo,

my US-fiance and I are about to file the k-1 visa application. i have a problem with providing my recent address because i work in a humanitarian aid project in Sri Lanka, travel a lot in the country and do no really have a permanent address. is it ok if i provided the address of my employer's office in Sri Lanka?

i do plan to attach a sheet of paper to the application stating that all mail should be forwarded to my parents address in Germany who will then dhl it to the office in Sri Lanka.

can anybody help please?

My personal opinion (not a lawyer or expert, just someone half way through the process) is...

You, as the benficiary, will not be receiving anything via mail except for the packet that comes from the US Embassy in the country in which you are filing. If you are listing that you currently live in Sri Lanka, it is the US Embassy in Colombo, Sri Lanka, that will mail you the "Packet 3" at the appropriate time. It will contain the instructions that you need to follow at that point, like medical exam and interview time.

I think it could cause delays, questions and possibly lost mailings if you had this item sent from Colombo to Germany for your parents to then send to you.
