Hi guys, yesterday I was so happy to receive the forms from my fiancé with the Affidavit.

Last night however I saw that all the forms are obsolete, both the G-28 (which is from 2000) and the I-134 (Rev 12/04/06 exp. 04/30/07). I can't believe they used the old forms :crying:

Now, I was told and read that the 2006 edition is still accepted (I-134 USCIS) but that they would need to be notarized! Is that correct? Should I send the forms in as they are or have my fiancé fill and send everything again?? He doesn't really have time to work on the Visa right now so I'm worried it's going to take another two weeks or so... I've waited so long for all this.

Please, anyone help!

bless bless Þýskalandi! ég elsker þig!

Previous versions of the I-134 are still accepted. Read below on Special Instructions for the G-28 (they are still currently accepting previous versions).

As far as notarizing the I-134 - it is no longer required. However some consulate level information has not been updated to reflect the current requirements. In our case, I added a cover letter with our I-134, included a statement and had it notarized (better to err on the side of caution).

Keeping up with the forms can be challenging and it is always recommended to verify the most current edition. In some cases it can be a bit tricky (if forms are being mailed in advance and a revision comes out between the time of mailing and the time of interview).

One more note: I opened and read the G-28 link on USCIS and it has the following statement:Special Instructions :

This version of the G-28, Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney or Accredited Representative, is a fillable form. You should install Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5.0 to make best use of the fillable features of this form.

Although Form G-28 contains an ‘N’ designation indicating that previous versions will not be accepted, USCIS has decided to extend the grace period for accepting previous versions of Form G-28 while the agency further refines the form. USCIS expects to complete that process soon. In the interim, USCIS will not reject filings accompanied by older versions of the form until further notice.

Hope that helps.

Bernie C thank you very much! That was very helpful!

Unfortunately, I just received the hardcopy of those forms and they were all shredded to pieces during parcel. Guess it's just not my week... They'll have to send everything all over.

Thanks anyway!
