I'm working on my wife's AOS and apparently, when my wife came through immigration at the DFW airport, they took the only copy of her medical examination that she had overseas (the one they say not to open).

After submitting the AOS packet, USCIS came back with a request for the medical exam, either a DS-2053 or I-693. I would think that the two branches would work hand in hand, but I guess not.

So, does anyone know something else to do here? Or will I have to cough up the money to a civil surgeon for another medical exam and vaccinations. We do have a vaccination record, but it's not an original copy.

Thanks.

Hi there..I just had my AOS mailed yesterday. regarding the medical, your wife need to go to Civil Surgeon and have them complete the I-693 form. It would be nice if she have a copy of her medical and the vaccination record, just show it to the CS and they will just transfer the data to I-693. They will then give you a sealed envelope of her I-693 form for USCIS. I had the same experience with your wife, i was not given any copy of my medical. When I arrived at my port of entry I handed the brown envelope which has all my information and medical result to immigration officer. Fortunately, the receipt i had has the email add of the Physician, i just send him an email and then he send me a simple copy of my medical result. Then I brought it to the CS and my vaccination record. It went fine.

she should have been given a copy of the DS3025 (I think that is the number) at the hospital when she did the physical for the visa. We showed that to the civil surgeon when we were doing Claudeth's AOS so didn't have to go through the expense of a full physical again.
