Hello there.

I've been staying here in the Philippines with my wife, Jumi, for about 1 year and 3 months. Jumi's interview is on Feb. 12 here in Manila.

I have some concerns about my visa extension and the US Embassy and Consulate. I have previously extended my visa and I have a good track record here, but I have reason to believe that I may be part of her interview on the 12th and I'm worried that they will see that I have not extended my visa yet.

Do you guys think that it can have an impact on the interview or be a basis for a denial on my wife's part? I plan on paying the overstay once we get back to Cebu, but before we leave to the U.S.. The reason for this is because of various expenditures here and I couldn't get to paying it without having an impact on our budget, because we are both being support by my parents.

Thanks.

For sure it will be a question, why don't you act now and extend your visa.

Visit or call The Department of Foreign Affairs for more information.

Hi! Did you try to go to a nearest immigration office? Because when my hubby was in the Philippines he just had his passport stamped by the immigration officer to extend his stay and paid a certain amount. When I had my interview before he's also with me but the CO didn't asked to see him but it may vary in your case or depending on the CO. It will be a question only if the CO will look at your passport and see that you over stayed. Try to get some money and extend your visa for safety. :)
