Not only about oil, no. But it was certainly a consideration that ties into the geopolitics of the Gulf region. Everyone thinks that cold war is over, it isn't. For all intents and purposes little has changed. That's why we're there.

On a superficial level a lot of people became very rich very quickly with those no-bid contracts. As I said, people here were giving Obama ###### for $25 million, while the Bush administration had done similar deals to the tune of $500 bn. Can you imagine orchestrating a closed-doors gold-rush for that kind of money!? Its obscene!

We stopped thinking about it because the biased liberal media stopped talking about it, the protests ended and the attempts by congress to de-fund the war have stopped. The liberal Democrats that now own the war and promised to end it (they haven't done anything to end it) do not want to talk about it.

If there was ever a more glaring example of the biased media, I cannot thik of it. The coverage of the war ended the day Obama took office...pooof....gone.

Talking out of your posterior appears to be a forte...

The budget also reflects Obama’s decision to draw down U.S. forces in Iraq to only six “advisory and assistance brigades” by August 31, 2010, according to Gates. These are meant to be distinguished from combat brigades, but their makeup and size remain unclear.

The United States has pledged to withdraw all troops from Iraq by the end of 2011, under the bilateral status of forces agreement signed last year.
