I received an email today stating I had an RFE mailed to me the other day. I don't have the RFE in hand yet. How is this going to effect my timeline? Will this add a couple weeks or a couple months to this process. Also, does this RFE affect my EAD and AP applications? This sucks!

Does not affect your EAD or AP applications those are seperate.

Usualy if they issue a request for evidence it sets you back 60 days. All depends on what your local office is processing under the processing times on the USCIS website.

Example

You file AOS June 08, 2009. The local office is processing July 08, 2009. Then that means you would need to wait 60 days and then you could call the NCSC and put in a Outside Normal Processing Times request, but since the RFE was issued early. Dont expect it to slow processing down by much.
