So i got the tax transcripts from my past 3 years filing. I filed married joint (ex-wife). How do I show what my income is and what I am trying to qualify for? I guess in this case I would have to send my w-2s also? I have been told in the past on here that might trigger an RFE also since i'm not sending the 1040 in with it. I think even if I print out my turbo tax filing it doesnt separate our income. What is the best way to go about this? I know someone has dealt with this.

Also, on the I-864 is says that I have to add any other claimed dependent from previous year's filing. (that would be my step-son) It seems confusing...I might have to wait to submit the AOS until after I file this year so I dont have to claim my step-son (I pay no child support for him). I am pretty sure I will qualify with my income alone even if I have to count him, but it is all how my tax return looks. I have 4 months of tax free income from the last year, but if you add up just my base pay I more than qualify....I also get income that isnt taxed too..(housing, food allowances along with COLA). I really want to have all this together for when I go to the philippines this weekend, but I am pretty overwhelmed by the forms and what is being asked.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Being also in the military im sure they look at your 1040 completely especially when BOX 12 Letter Q on your W2's which lists your non taxed combat pay, as far as BAH, BAS, COLA and FSH its simply that allowances, what the military gives you to pay for housing...its not listed under income cause its not its allowances.

Just my insight

yes the only thing i have under box 12 on my w2 this year is for my tax free pay to the combat zone. housing and other allowances arent there on my previous ones. That stuff only shows up on my LES. The only thing that shows up on the w2 is base pay...but if i dont use what was in box 12, i will just barely make what they call the poverty line.

Maybe you could just include a copy of your LES with total entitlements and a letter from finance or your CO saying you make this much a month on an official letterhead
