2 days ago, I received my parent's interview letter (PDF) via email that states their interview is scheduled in Montreal for 2/9/2010.

Problem is that all I have is the PDF that came in the email. I also see in the PDF interview letter that they need to take a sealed medical envelop from the doctor to the embassy at the interview date.

Several questions:

Q1: Do they need to wait for the interview letter and medical letter to come in mail before my parents can go and get their medicals done?

Q2: If they are not able to get their medicals done by the interview date, is that something to be concerned about? Or can the medical be sent separately to the Montreal Embassy after the interview? Is the case in a pending status?

Q3: Do my parent's need to take 2 (5cm by 5cm) pictures to the doctor who will do their medicals?

Q4: What exactly needs to be taken to the interview? I see that people have taken pictures to show that the petitioner and parents are having a relationship? Do they need to gather some pictures in preparation for their interview?

Thanks for your feedback. Appreciate any insights!!

So, I'm guessing this is an IR-5 for your parents? And the interview is taking place in Montreal?

There is no such thing as a "medical letter" You need to call and book an appointment with one of the 4 qualified panel physicians in Canada. There is 1 in Vancouver, 1 in Toronto and 2 in Montreal. If you call rather soon there should be no reason why you couldn't get a medical booked with one of the 2 doctors in Montreal before your interview date in February. If for some reason the medical can't be done in time, they will simply withhold the decision on your parents visas until they are sent the results of a medical. This could delay the process by several months since Montreal is rather backlogged and things are taking a while to be processed and completed. They will both need 2 US passport sized photos for the medical, yes.

As for the interview, I really don't know what specific information they would need to bring. Hopefully someone with some IR-5 experience can come chime in.
