Hey, my husband and I are about to go through the green card process and get the whole cr-1 visa and I was wondering what the living requirements are. I'm living with my sister in America at the moment while my husband is back in the UK while we do the process. I have a few questions:

When doing the process can I use my sister's house or do I have to have our own apartment ready before he comes over? And if so, do I have to be moved in already or can we move in when he gets here?

If I need my own address, when in the process should I be looking/moved in?

Am I allowed to go over in July to wait for the green card to be approved or do I have to stay in my own country while it's all happening?

Lots of couples live with their families due to cultural or financial reasons. You don't need your own place to file for the Cr-1, you just need an address to receive correspondences during this process.

You can go to the UK as long as you follow the tourist rules for the UK

October 16, 2015 - US Citizen
